ABOUT

Meet Coach Zach Wilkening

With over 10 years of youth coaching experience, Coach Zach Wilkening has worked with players throughout the local community, including North Sunrise Little League and Villa Park Little League.

He currently coaches with the Villa Park Vipers high school development program and at Villa Park High School, a CIF Division I baseball program. A proud Villa Park High School alum, he grew up playing baseball on the same fields he now coaches on — giving him a strong connection to the community and the families he serves.

He is also a dad and step-dad to five boys — Easton, Zach, Joe, Blake, and Nolan — who compete across Little League, travel ball, high school athletics, football, and karate. That experience gives him a unique perspective as both a parent and a coach, shaping the way he works with families and developing athletes. Coach Zach strongly believes in multi-sport development, character over ego, and the importance of academics — where your GPA will always matter more than your batting average.

Some of his most meaningful coaching moments include helping lead a 10U All-Star team to a second-place finish at the State Tournament and traveling to Cooperstown.

Coach Zach is passionate about teaching the game the right way — respect, effort, and fundamentals — while helping players develop confidence in both their swing and their mindset. He focuses on repeatable mechanics, a smart approach at the plate, and building athletes who compete with pride and purpose.

Above all, his goal is to help young players grow into disciplined teammates, resilient competitors, and confident young men on and off the field.
